Former Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila believes that her new book, A Decade In My Lifetime, is a very special milestone.
Taking to social media, the now-radio presenter said she is happy with her accomplishment.
Product of God’s mercy
“I actually did it. God has been so patient with me. Others may have forgotten me, some may have written me off. But my God never left me nor forsaken me,” she wrote.
“I am a product of His mercy and grace. In tears as I write this caption. We are happy to announce that A Decade In My Lifetime is finally here.
“It has been a journey and I was blessed enough to document it.”
In 2021 Matlaila, who played the character of Mokgadi on Skeem Saam, shared why she had disappeared from the screen and social media.
She told fans at the time that life had not been fair on her, which led to her taking some time off from the limelight.
At the time, she had just tied the knot and said while she was pregnant, she was involved in a tragic accident that almost took the life of the baby.
Back to broadcasting
In 2022, Matlaila announced that she had gone back to her first love – broadcasting. The actress said she had joined an international radio station, Channel Africa Radio.
She currently hosts a show between midday and 2pm weekdays.
“Before television I had radio, and seven years later I am hosting a show on radio again,” she shared at the time.
“It may look small to someone, but to me it is an answered prayer and I shall celebrate my small wins too. I wanted to get back to radio, which has been my first love for so long.
“In hindsight, I realise now that I found my voice again and I am learning how to use it. I can safely say I got my foot back at the door, the SABC headquarters door.
“I’m still rough around the edges, but it can only get better from here.”
