Actress and poet Botlhale Boikanyo continues to invest in her craft following her graduation, for the second time, with a qualification in acting.
The thespian, who was introduced to South Africans at the age of 11 when she won SA’s Got Talent in 2012, took to Instagram to share how she wanted to learn and grow in the entertainment industry.
Now 21, Boikanyo said she graduated from Actor Spaces Academy after obtaining her BA in Motion Pictures (a qualified director and producer) in March.
“An Actor prepares. I remember I first applied to be a part of this acting academy to invest in my craft,” she shared.
“I wanted to learn, gain skills, better myself and grow as an actor. To be a skilled and trained actor. I also applied to reignite that excitement for acting, to play and experiment and be a student again.
“I remember drama classes in high school used to be my favorite time, and I can confirm that Saturday’s at Actor Spaces quickly because my favorite day.”
Famous for her role as Omphile on e.tv’s Scandal!, Boikanyo said to be in the same space with other creatives who are dedicated to their craft and development, and passionate about this art, was amazing.
“I’m a graduate again. To learn and share space with the phenomenal teachers and facilitators through the academy was amazing. I thank God for this gift of storytelling and I hope I never lose this hunger and [the] spark.”
