Hip-hop fans find it depressing to remember the passing of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name, AKA, during this month of love.
On February 10 2023, AKA and his close friend chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were brutally killed on Florida Road in Durban.

It is clear from looking at AKA and his relationships that he was able to go through all three of them while he was here on Earth.
AKA’s first love
Tony Forbes, the father of AKA, revealed the identity of his son’s first girlfriend in a recent interview. He said that Black Coffee’s estranged wife, actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, was AKA’s first girlfriend.
Super Mega’s first love before becoming famous was undoubtedly Enhle, and they were mature about their break-up even though the two never discussed their relationship in public.
The first woman AKA introduced to the public was DJ Zinhle, who happens to be the mother of his only child, Kairo. Although the two had met in 2012, they did not make their relationship public until 2014.
Regretfully, their relationship ended in 2015 following Kairo’s birth, just like most others do.
Cheating with Bonang Matheba
This came after rumours circulated in the media that AKA was dating media personality Bonang Matheba without DJ Zinhle’s knowledge.
Not long after AKA announced his split from DJ Zinhle, he made his relationship with Bonang public.
Given that they had similar goals, many people believed that they would be Mzansi’s hottest couple.
In 2017, their relationship came to an end due to accusations of infidelity and witchcraft, and AKA acknowledged in public that he left his family only to be betrayed.
In 2018, Nicole Nyaba became the deceased rapper’s significant other. However, they did not last long together, calling it quits before things became serious.
Super Mega and the mother of his child made amends that same year, but when things did not work out, they finally called it quits in 2019. The two made the decision to stay friends while co-parenting.
The proposal, lobola, and Nellie Tembe
AKA introduced the late Anele Nellie Tembe in 2020 following the second break-up with the mother of his child.
AKA’s proposal to Tembe and their lobola negotiations gave the impression that their relationship was serious. But while they were vacationing in Cape Town, Tembe passed away, tragically ending their relationship.
The father of the late rapper has stated that, in his opinion, the two should never have fallen in love because they were in very different phases of life.
He also revealed that, despite having a good heart, AKA had an aggressive side.
After keeping his romantic relationships under wraps for several months, AKA came clean about dating Nadia Nakai in March 2022.
AKA’s final love before passing away was Nadia Nakai, whom he cherished until the end of his life.
