Akon will not perform at extravagant Saint

Senegalese-American singer Akon has allegedly pulled a no-show at Saint Lounge in Cape Town.

According to the establishment Akon was expected to make appearances for three nights at their lounge from Tuesday until Thursday.

On Wednesday Saint issued a statement regarding the matter, alleging that there is an issue between the artist’s representatives and his management that has caused him not to honour the booking.

“We would like to address the artist’s no-show at Saint Champagne bar and lounge. We were approached by representatives of Akon with an opportunity for us to book him. After numerous meetings, we agreed on a sum to be paid, we then paid over the amount to the representatives as per our agreement in full and on time.

“We have now noticed that there seems to be an issue between the representatives of the artist and his management which has caused Akon to not honour the booking,” the statement reads.

Saint further said that the no-show on Tuesday was beyond their control and the artist will no longer be appearing at the establishment on any other day (Wednesday and Thursday).

“Our loyal customers deserve the best and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are a reputable brand that has always delivered.”

The same establishment also trended for advertising tables starting from a ridiculous R10 000 to a whopping R1-million at its exclusive 50 seater Table for New Year’s eve celebrations.
