‘Isitha’ actor Sipho Ndlovu takes legal action amid GBV claims

Isitha actor Sipho Ndlovu has taken legal action against a woman who shared pictures claiming that she was allegedly assaulted by the actor this week.

Ndlovu, well-known for his character on The Wife, opened a case at the Douglasdale police station in Joburg on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to Sunday World, Ndlovu denied the allegations made by the woman, Thandeka Mhlanga, on her social media platforms.

Ndlovu said Mhlanga had not opened a case against him like she initially claimed. She was fetched by the police at her workplace on Thursday morning.

He also added that before that, Mhlanga tried to trick him into apologising. This was when he realised that she had not opened a case like she initially claimed on social media.

“I never assaulted her. And if you can check the pictures that she posted you will see it does not reflect what she said on social media. She told people she drove to my place and then I blocked her when she tried to get inside the house. And I slapped her and put her down,” said Ndlovu.

He further stated that there are videos of Mhlanga from the security guards which show her climbing the wall of the gate. These videos were shown to the police.

“We are dealing with someone who is bitter and wants to destroy my name with something so sensitive and serious like gender based violence. You cannot use such just because you are hurt and lie about being assaulted. She was caught on the wall.”

The security guard that was on duty on the evening is said to have also opened a case of assault. This after he claims he was assaulted.

Thandeka was arrested from her place of work on Thursday morning. She is due to appear in court on Friday.

Gauteng Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed the matter to the publication. She said that a case of common assault, crimen injuria, and defamation of character was opened.

“The suspect has been arrested and will be taken to Randburg court on Friday,” said Kweza.
