Master KG blasts ex-record label Open Mic Productions

After years of keeping mum about his silent exit from controversial record label Open Mic, internationally hit factory Master KG has finally lifted the lid.
Selfish
Master KG, born Kgaogelo Moagi, took to his X (formerly Twitter) page on Friday night to blast his former record label, calling them “selfish”.

“Open Mic Productions is one of the most selfish people to have ever work with,” he said.
The Keneilwe hitmaker did not divulge details of his outburst despite receiving an overwhelming number of concerns from fans who asked if the star if he was okay.

He continued: “I’m not a fan of talking stuff on social media but this thing has been going on for too long now.”

Master KG had not responded to Sunday World questions by the time of publication.
Long list of disgruntled artists
Master KG has joined a long list of musicians who have come out to speak up against the record label, which in the past included his ex-girlfriend Makhadzi, and Grammy award winning Nomcebo Zikode.

In May, Makhadzi, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, took to X to share that she signed with Open Mic for only three years and that despite releasing four successful albums, she hadn’t received any royalty payments for her music sales.

“Some of my albums reached platinum, some gold… and a lot of hit songs that reached platinum and gold but I continue to work without complaining coz [sic] all I wanted was to serve my contract, to avoid them saying I breached the contract,” he said.

“I worked with Open Mic without a copy of my contract ever since they said they will send it, I kept on reminding them but no one was willing to send me my contract.”

“Must I continue working whereas I am not happy? I served my contract, I don’t want to work with them anymore,” she said at the time.
