No more marital bliss for Slikour as wife pulls plug over cheating

Hip-hop juggernaut Slikour has been dumped by his wife after she accused him of abusing and cheating on her.

Sunday World can exclusively reveal that Slikour, real name Siyabonga Metane, has been kicked to the curb by the mother of his child, Melissa Wilkinson, a year after they publicly celebrated their five-year anniversary.

News of their separation was revealed by a source, who did not want to be named for fear of victimisation.

The source, who is close to the estranged lovebirds, said Wilkinson discarded Slikour like a scratched vinyl after complaining that he was abusing her emotionally.

She also complained, according to the source, that the former member of the hip-hop hybrid, Skwatta Kamp, was financially and psychologically abusive towards her.

Wilkinson also lamented that she was lonely in their union because Slikour devoted most of his time to his career and neglected her.

She further protested that Slikour also sidelined her in making crucial family decisions and hardly communicated about their nuptials.

“Melissa tried to fight for her marriage and to convince him to include her in decision-making, but he ignored her and continued to make unilateral decisions. She is one of the women who believe that a couple, especially husband and wife, should collectively discuss issues before a decision is taken. When Slikour sidelined her, she was hurt and decided to throw in the towel,” said the deep throat.

The mole also said Wilkinson complained that Slikour was always away from home and was engaged in extra-marital affairs.

“She said this man was cheating on her, and that was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

She said she was heartbroken when she discovered that Silkour was cheating on her,” said the tipster.

According to the source, Wilkinson also said she had not only lost love for the musician, but also respect and affection for him as a result of his cavalier association with women.

Although the two continued to live under one roof in the ritzy suburb of Edenberg in Sandton, said the source, Wilkinson was toying with the notion of vacating their matrimonial home and staying elsewhere because she wants to file for divorce.

“In fact, she has already instructed her lawyers to write to him and inform him that she wants to apply for a divorce decree,” said the source.

The source also says Wilkinson wants Slikour, whom she wed in a traditional ceremony in 2017, to pay over R20 000 towards the maintenance of their child.

“It remains to be seen if he will be able to afford it,” said the source.

Slikour feigned ignorance when we contacted him for comment and said they we still together.
