Paige accuses Open Mic of turning Sdala B against her

Paige, well-known for remixing Makhadzi’s hit song Ghanama in Isizulu, aired Open Mic’s dirty laundry for everyone to see last week.

Paige shared that she knows how the Matorokisi hitmaker felt, noting that she was handled the same way by Open Mic when she was signed under the record company.

On Monday, she took to her social media accounts to lay bare how the company allegedly managed to turn her colleague Sdala B against her.

The musician said Sdala B called her and her manager on Thursday to inform them that he had been called into a meeting with Open Mic.

This after Sdala B also lambasted the record label on social media for not honouring its side of the deal.

However, Paige said, Sdala B was scared to meet with the company, but was curious to hear what the officials had to say to him.

“I told him to be careful and [that] I am sure ‘they will try and bribe you and turn you against me’,” wrote Paige.

“On Friday, I called Sdala B to find out how the meeting went and how he is, and he rejected my calls. I was concerned [and I] decided to call his family, who told me that he is back and he is well.

“I then figured maybe they have gotten into his mind, so I kept quiet and gave him space.”

On Sunday, she said, she received a call from Sdala B’s family member telling her that he returned from Pretoria driving a new car.

“I didn’t understand how he managed to do that. It made sense that Open Mic had given him some money, which he told me they were going to, as they called him.

“I do not know how much it is. Obviously that money was given to him on their terms and conditions. I tried to call him but still he rejected my calls.”

Paige said she later saw an article where Sdala B publicly apologised for the bad things he had said about the company.

He further said in the article that what was posted on his social media was not posted by him but by his former manager, who is currently Paige’s manager.

“The very same person that discovered Sdala and myself and changed both our lives for the better, I couldn’t believe what I was reading,” wrote Paige.

“I was hurt and I am still hurting. Honestly speaking, I am not angry or mad at him, I love him as my little brother and I know they took advantage of the struggles he had at home and used them to turn him against me.

“I know he needed the money to support and take care of his family.”

Paige said she will continue to fight for what she worked for, and urged Open Mic to pay her.
