Iconic streetwear brand Converse took centre stage during the 2023 Rocking The Daisies last weekend.
The three-day music festival in Cape Town rose to its billing as a major entertainment event on the leisure calendar of Western Cape.
Converse activations and colourful presence through festival-goers and influencers had a strong presence. The shoe brand activation was driven by #createnext campaign.
Converse SA marketing manager, Tebogo Motlhamme said the hashtag was all about providing people with the tools to be creative. The label, firstly through its shoes and boots, and later T-shirts and caps, has been re-defining sport, arts, street and creative culture.
Sunday World engaged with young revellers and creatives rocking Converse items, some from head to toe.
Content creator and brand influencer JohnJay, a first-time attendee at the Daisies, described the festival as “exhilarating atmosphere”.
“Converse has truly elevated my online reputation, exemplifying my creative prowess and establishing my credibility in the industry,” JohnJay said.

Content creator SimplyChuene said, as a creative, wearing converse made sense to him.

Detailing his festival experience, SimplyChuene said: “I got up to so much fun at Daisies. My presence at this festival has given my career a boost as so many people took note of me. I view myself as a fashionista and fingers are crossed for more doors to open.”
Artist and content creator Stunningmaze firmly stated “Converse is family”.
“This is my second year going and it feels good to be back in my favourite brand gear.”

Maze added: “I was there for work as a creator and musician. My main focus was networking mostly. People noticed me this past weekend; its only up from here!”
Blogger Bontle Phiri expressed her love for Converse designs, style and culture.

Phiri also had a message of hope for young content creators.
“Be as authentic as you can – you don’t owe anyone perfect content. Besides, until you start, you’ll never reach that perfectionism that’s holding you back!”
Comedian, artist and content creator Prince said with rizz [charisma]and confidence that he sees his relationship with Converse growing – as he was picked to be part of an exclusive experience.
