Black twitter again managed to humble a celebrity who thought he was above his fans.
DJ Shimza received an online beating after he insulted an upcoming DJ Ceega Wa Meropa. He asked DJ Shimza to invite him on one of his Lockdown shows, since Cyril Ramaphosa extended the lockdown until the end of April.
But a rude Shimza wasn’t having it and told him: “You need to stop harassing me, it’s annoying.” To which Ceega responded: “Thanks. I will.”
Ceega went on to explain through his tweets that Shimza had the wrong end of the stick as it was the first time, he had approached the DJ for a spot.
A DJ Electro DSA reached out to Black Coffee asking if he could assist Ceega. “I have played alongside Ceega in KZN and I can attest to his creativity and his hood talent. I know you will give a chance to upcoming talent,” he tweeted.
Black Coffee then came to Ceega’s aid. Gagasi Fm also offered him one month’s residency.
Hey @CeegaWaMeropa1… How are you Tuesday’s looking like for a months residency on @ThatDriveKZN? https://t.co/1ATnsgmu74

EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi also weighed in on the matter and hauled Shimza over the coals for being so harsh in his response.
These are difficult times for all us & @Shimza01 is no exception. His reaction, however regrettable, must be seen as human. I hope he acknowledges that he has erred, retract, & we can all move on to support his great initiative meant to support all artists from all walks of life!

Fans called for the boycott of Shimza’s set on channel O. The huge twitter uproar in favour of the struggling DJ, saw Ceega perform on Channel 261.
Shimza buckled and eventually apologised for his behaviour.
“Once again guys, I apologise to everyone I have offended. I must always remember to hold myself to a higher standard. Marumo fatse,” tweeted Shimza.
