‘Minister’ Maynier clapped back into his rightful place
Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier should have kept his smugness to himself and avoided a snotklap for being too cocky!
The pompous DA politician, who moonlights under the legally void title of minister, took to X to question why Alvin Botes, the deputy minister of international relations and coorperations, did not report to him before planning a handover ceremony of IT equipment to two local schools. Botes gave him a dignified clap back, whipping out two invitation letters sent to the local mayor and the education department.
Instead of being embarrassed for acting like the Western Cape is an independent country, the ceremonial minister squirmed that his office should have been the first stop. No, Mr Maynier, maybe you should remember that you are just another MEC instead of acting like a real minister. And get a life too.
