Moegoe of the Day! – Lorch

Football star Thembinkosi Lorch was given his sentence earlier on Tuesday for smashing up his then girlfriend out of anger. During the entire court case it never emerged what did the girlfriend do to deserve to be beaten up and strangled. The Orlando Pirates icon however continued with his life and football, even after the guilty verdict in June last year. On Tuesday his punishment was finally delivered: three years imprisonment wholly suspended for five years. This means no jail time, and so on and so forth. Some say it’s a fair ruling while others think he escaped lightly; you judge for yourself. We, however, say Lorch is the Moegoe of the Day. All because he never showed remorse for his dastardly deed and never apologised to the public that idolises him, for his GBV tendency.
