No need to butcher themes, people, just ride the wave

When I say I saw it all last weekend, I really mean it. Your faves came out in numbers to show off their stylish and not-so-stylish designer outfits at the Hollywood Durban July. I honestly really worry about our celebs and the way they interpret themes but perhaps I do not have a fashion eye.

Somizi Mhlongo was nowhere to be seen as he usually makes a grand entrance in a chopper, well DJ Tira grabbed that opportunity with both hands and showed up in style.

Just when I was shocked by how “ride the wave” was interpreted into “ride the curtains” at the Hollywood Durban July this weekend.

What is this trend of celebrities doing photo shoots and then no pitching up for the event? Very weird indeed. Not once did I see Nandi Madida.

Lethabo Lejoy, my dear are you going to post your wavey outfit that you claim was shipped from Milan or what? Or the comments you saw after a certain
journalist said you looked snatched made you feel otherwise? Own that snatched body, my love.

Nonku Williams dear, Shwa is proud of you, but you should have invited all the housewives, we wanted to see some drama. Imagine all the housewives in one place, except for Slee Ndlovu, who wore a hideous dress and looked lonely and overstretched at some other marquee.

Thando Thabethe and Robert Marawa, there is no need to hide from the public; we know, and it is okay. That dress Thando was wearing made her look old enough to be Marawa’s wife-to-be. Take tips from Maps Maponyane who has soft-launched his relationship with Shudufhadzo Musina, ex-Miss SA.

Our resident Kim Kardashian, aka Cyan Boujee, decided to take the theme to another level and wore her own rendition of ‘“ride the mala mogodu”.

I don’t know if I got hungry, disgusted or just wanted to laugh, but it sure wasn’t a feeling adoration.

I also heard that she stole the look from Nollywood TV star Chioma but our girl decided to butcher it instead with her Marabastad designer who I hope has relocated to another country now because if I catch them, it won’t be nice.

Still on the Durban July, Shwa wants to know if it was a must for all the celebrities to do a photo shoot at the beach.

Shwa was flabbergasted by this Durban guy with the loudest and most annoying voice called Dladla Mshunqisi who came rocking a scary haircut.
