Shwa’s laughter cabinet ready to rule Mzansi

On Wednesday Shwa attended one of -Mzansi’s most anticipated comedy events of the year, at DemoCrazy: A Roast of South Africa which was hosted by Comedy Central and Nando’s at the Lyric Theatre.

What a befitting way to reflect and look back at what our country has gone through in the past 30 years since we got our freedom back. Gossip girl needed a little laugh just before she goes and casts her vote on Wednesday, just so she can make a sane decision.

Shwa and the rest of the audience enjoyed seeing a swearing member of the opposition, John Vlismas, who is known for his razor-sharp wit and fearless commentary. Vlismas sure did bring the promised signature brand of humour to the grill.

Chester Missing, the master puppet himself, unleashed his satirical prowess around the nation’s most pressing issues. The G.O.A.T of comedy Loyiso Gola treated us with his signature incisive observations that left the audience in stitches.

At some point, Shwa thought she was going to be reminded as to why she should work hard to keep her job because the unemployed gang knows that it’s -real when a comrade of the Clientele funeral plan Desmond Dube came on stage.

Muscley pole dancer Siv Ngesi came in with his quick wit and infectious energy. Ngesi added his unique flavour to the roast and at some point, reminded us of the good times when the Boks won the Rugby World Cup.

Namaste Bae AKA Rob van Vuuren, embraced his alter ego as he infused the evening with his infectious energy and comedic flair.

He showed us that to heal from your triggers and trauma you must be traumatised again.

Whoever comes into power after the elections should consider making Celeste Ntuli the madame speaker because she comes with her larger-than-life personality.

She came on stage dressed as -Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma! And if you were around during the covid-19 pandemic, you should know how much she broke people’s hearts every time she would give a speech. Smokers were left shaking, well literally because cigarettes were a luxury at the time.

Mpho Popps would make a good minister of scathing sarcasm. The guy is a master of comedic timing with his infectious energy and charm that will light up parliament.

Minister of social media would be Moghelingz who captivated the audience with his hilarious shade and no-holds-barred approach. Minister of Laughter Skhumba Hlophe came through with his unfiltered humour and unique perspective.

Shwa also spotted Sho Madjozi, Thandeka Dawn King, Lesedi Matsunyane, Devi Sankaree Govender, Kagiso Lediga, Zoe Modiga and PD Jokes.
