The Tiger puts Young Lions in their place
The ANCYL, also known as Young Lions, have been running amok making all sorts of demands without a push back. But the mistakes they made was to talk about the positions the old guards have been relentlessly hogging since time immemorial.
After demanding that 50% of positions in government’s gravy train at national and provincial levels, after next year’s elections be reserved for the Young Lions, Gwede “The Tiger” Mantashe roared back to tell them where to get off.
The ANC chair is peeved. He thinks the youth leaders are spoiled brats, expecting rewards for doing nothing. Mantashe reminded them that the recent wave of EFF victories in tertiary institutions was a telltale sign that not even their peers recognise them as leaders. Ouch, that must have cut as deep as the tiger’s claw.
