Top 30 contestants vying for prestigious Mrs SA crown unveiled

The prestigious Mrs South Africa hosted the 2023 finalists announcement at Emperors Palace in Ekurhuleni at the weekend.

The event was held under the theme #EveryWomen.


The top 30 contestants, who represent each province, will be vying to take over the crown from Palesa Matjekane who will represent the country in Mrs Universe.

Speaking to Sunday World, finalist Caitlin Chetty from Benoni said: “I am so excited to be a Mrs South Africa 2023 finalist and I am filled with more excitement to follow my journey and see how far it all takes me.” 

Sharing Chetty’s sentiments, another finalist from Kempton Park Pondo Osuigwe said: “I feel happy and honored to be a part of this year’s selection.”

This year, the beauty pageant has created a platform for contestants to participate in an acclaimed female empowerment programme.

In addition to extensive networking opportunities, fun-filled events and philanthropy work, the programme provides women with extensive training and upskilling workshops, helping them to rediscover themselves, follow their dreams, and become powerful voices for change. 

Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Johnson emphasizes that Mrs South Africa is proud to celebrate diversity and inclusivity, uplifting and showcasing real, authentic, bona-fide women from all walks of life.

She also celebrated each woman who is participating in the pageant.

The contestants are:

Pondo Osuigwe, Caitlin Chetty, Aadila Bobat, Anita Momberg, Berlina Lekgethwane, Carlien van Rensburg, Dawn Arendse, Deliwe Selepe, Emeldah Mnisi, Ephy Mathebula, Kwena Mangena, Lebogang Masekela, Lemé van der Walt, Lesego Nkuna, Marissa Burness, Nadine van der Wateren, Nekisha Lupke, Nelisiwe Nhlapo, Noeline Rajbally, Nokuthula Maduma, Pearl Nikolic, Roshini Pakkiree, Roulene Bonthuys, Sheila Moagi, Terisa Hsu-Lee, Thembi Magwaza, Theresa Maluleke, Tshego Gaelae, Vourne Kgosinkwe and Wanzel Bruwer.
