Socialite Khanyi Mbau’s boyfriend Tebogo Lerole is facing fraud charges after a Joburg woman opened a case against him at the Sandton police station.
Susan Bresley told cops that the Kwela Tebza band member allegedly conned her out of R15 000 in 2017 but she only opened a case in May.
It was not clear why Bresley waited two years before she opened the case as she and her representative did not respond to questions sent to them.
Police spokesperson Granville Meyer confirmed that a case was opened but no one had been arrested yet.
“The suspect forged documents which led to the victim losing money. The case is still under investigation,” said Meyer.
Lerole’s phone rang unanswered and he had not responded to questions at the time of going to print.
Mbau said she knew nothing about the matter.
