South African singer-songwriter Babili Amos Shili, popularly known as Aymos, has released another single titled Amandla, where he features songbird Jessica. Aymos is known for his amapiano hit Fatela, where he featured Ami Faku.
Aymos’ passion for music started in high school, where he had his own choir and also sang in church.
Speaking to Sunday World about Amandla, Aymos said the single is a new soulful amapiano tune that describes how unexpected death takes the individuals we cherish and love.
“The song is really heartfelt because it’s something that is really close to me and I generally love writing about things that I experience in life, so with Amandla, I was expressing how I’d love to have supernatural powers to bring back loved ones just for a day so that I can have a decent goodbye,” he said.
When asked about how he chooses the vocalists he collaborates with, he said he usually does not have anyone specific in mind at that certain time.
“I love setting up studio camps and inviting many different talents or musicians so that we bounce ideas off each to make a smash hit record,” he said.
