Lion King producer Lebo “Lebo M” Morake says he fears that his estranged wife, Pretty Samuels-Morake, has taken life policies in his name using his digital signature.
On Thursday, Morake released a statement stating that an outstanding affidavit from Samuels-Morake is the reason he has approached his lawyers to file for the divorce.
He said his divorce matter is currently sitting with their respective attorneys in order to resolve the matter as he, to date, has not received the affidavit he requested on July 8.
“I am giving the Samuels family until 4pm to revert on the requested and outstanding affidavit from my estranged wife,” said Lebo M in the statement.
Lebo M alleged that the affidavit, which he requested from Samuels-Morake, stating that there are no policies she is aware of, and he is not, that would be effected upon his death, which she and others would be beneficiaries of.
Morake also revealed that he is represented by divorce lawyer Kulani Msimeki of BK Msimeki Attorneys.
“We hereby confirm that Mr Morake has instructed us to institute divorce proceedings on his behalf against Mrs Morake. We are finalising his draft divorce summons,” said the lawyers.
Morake’s management dropped a bomb this week when it announced that he will be issuing Samuels-Morake with summons for the divorce.
“I will not be drawn into salacious allegations and innuendos about my business and personal life,” Morake said in a statement on Tuesday.
“I will be going ahead with the divorce and have already instructed my attorneys.”
Morake was married to Viveca Gipson for five years. He divorced her and married Nandi Ndlovu whom he stayed with for 11 years.
He then divorced Ndlovu and married Angela Ngani-Casara for five years from 2008 to 2013. He also became engaged to actress Zoe Mthiyane but their union ended in 2016.
He then remarried his third wife Ngani-Casara but they divorced again in 2017. In April 2021, Morake got engaged to Samuels-Morake.
