Reality TV icon Faith Nketsi has revealed shocking details why she lost faith in her husband, Nzuzo Njilo.
Nketsi alleged that Njilo defrauded her just after the two walked down the aisle in a wedding of cosmic proportions in Katlehong township, east of Johannesburg, on April 9 last year.
Nketsi dropped the bombshell when she informed her associates about the rationale behind the disintegration of her marriage to the fraud-accused Njilo.
Relating her ordeal, Nketsi said Njilo sold her vehicle, whose make and model she did not disclose, and failed to account for what he did with the money.
She also said Njilo was dishonest and could not manage his own finances.
“She said Njilo defrauded her of the proceeds of the sale of her vehicle,” said Nketsi’s associate, who did not want to be named for fear of victimisation.
The associate also said Nketsi, who is frugal, felt betrayed by Njilo’s alleged caper and kicked him to the kerb in January this year.
The ravishing model took their daughter Sky, said the associate, and went to live in her bonded house in Edenburg, Sandton, while Njilo went to live in Blue Valley Estate, Midrand, where he rents an apartment.
Nketsi, further said the associate, told them that as a result of the alleged fraud, their union broke down irretrievably, and there were no prospects of rescuing it.
“She instructed her lawyers last month to file for divorce.
“She said they are no longer compatible with each other and has lost affection for him and is no longer interested in continuing with their marriage,” said the associate.
Another associate said Nketsi and Njilo had already entered into an agreement regarding their daughter’s custody and her primary residence.
In the custody agreement, which she said they would make a court order, said the associate, they agreed their daughter would live with Nketsi and Njilo would see her on Sundays.
He would also, according to the associate, be allowed to spend time with her on his birthday and Fathers’ Day, while the model would be in the company of the child on her birthday and Mothers’ Day.
Nketsi, who claims to draw at least R50 000 a month, said she had also agreed with Njilo that they should both contribute towards the upkeep of their daughter, said the associate.
“From the gross monthly income she is making, she claims that she spends R22 000 on her bond, R3 000 on grocery, and R3 500 on water and electricity and rates and taxes.”
The associate said Nketsi told them that Njilo’s monthly gross income is R200 000.
He blows, she said, R45 000 on rent and spent R3 000 on electricity, R2 000 on grocery and R25 000 on petrol.
In one of the episodes of her show titled Have Faith, the social media influencer, who is also a well-known shrinking violet, sent shock wave across the entertainment ecosystem when she announced her separation from Njilo.
She said although they had drifted apart, she was ambivalent about whether she should fight to save her matrimony or file for divorce.
Nketsi and Njilo’s connubiality started showing faltering signs when he was arrested in April by KwaZulu-Natal police for fraud.
This after Njilo, together with his accomplice Kwanda Ntshangase, allegedly duped a Joburg man into paying them a substantial amount of money under the pretext that they were truck sales representatives.
After receiving the payment from the unsuspecting victim, the two disappeared into thin air without delivering the truck to the victim.
Njilo and Ntshangase were released on R30 000 and R3 000 bail respectedly. Njilo and Nketsi could not be reached for comment.
