Johannesburg – The first season of award-winning reality TV show, Life with Kelly Khumalo, will premiere on Mzansi Magic this July to keep Compact and Compact plus viewers glued to their screens as actress, singer and reality TV star Kelly Khumalo opens up about her career and her private life.
The reality TV show, which scooped the Best Structured Soapie Reality Show at the 15th annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in May, will let viewers into the world of Kelly Khumalo when she recorded her latest album, The Voice of Africa, while balancing against her personal journey to owning her story and staying close to the truth, while finding healing.
“Life with Kelly Khumalo was a major success at the recently-held SAFTAs and we are excited that this reality show will premiere on Mzansi Magic this July,” says Nomsa Philiso, the Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
“Our viewers should expect a dose of family drama, tell-all friendships and intriguing career moves – which are a recipe of a compelling reality TV show – as Kelly tells her story her way,” Philiso concludes.
In the first season, Kelly also finds herself having to decide whether or not to reach out to the family of her son, Christian, to try and ensure that he has a relationship with his father, and having to decide whether or not to give in to her inquisitive daughter Thingo, who has been asking about the identity of her father.
Kelly also has to balance this with her rocky relationship with her sister.
