American singer Britney Spears, fondly known as the Princess of Pop, is reportedly headed for a divorce just over a year since she tied the knot.
In 2004, Britney tied the knot to her childhood friend Jason Alexander.
However, the couple was only married for a total of 55 hours before obtaining an annulment.
She then exchanged wedding vows for the second time to Kevin Federline, and their union lasted for three years.
In 2022, she tied the knot to her 29-year-old fitness training partner Sam Asghari. The pair has been dating since 2016 when Asghari bagged a gig in one of Britney’s Slumber Party music videos.
Before they got hitched, Asghari played a crucial role in supporting the pop star amid her mental health challenges in 2019.
Britney had checked herself in for all-encompassing wellness treatment in April 2019, and Asghari stepped in to support her while she dealt with her father’s health scare.
The couple was engaged in September 2021 and it announced that it was expecting a baby, however, Britney later revealed that she had a miscarriage earlier in 2022.
In June 2022, they tied the knot when Britney’s first ex-husband Alexander was arrested after he gate-crashed their wedding at the singer’s Los Angeles home.
According to TMZ, the couple separated after an argument that involved allegations of cheating. A week ago, Asghari allegedly confronted Britney over rumours that she stepped out on him.
He has reportedly moved out of their house and the couple is now headed for a divorce. The pop singer is said to have signed a prenup, which will protect her assets.
