Just when the coronavirus became a reality in Mzansi, Lalla Hirayama spoke out on the racial abuse she was getting. But three weeks into the lockdown, and she has been accused of the same.
She posted a Tik Tok video parody which found its way to twitter streets. In the video, she seems to be poking fun at coloured women – as she makes different faces and pretends to sing in a coloured accent.
The audio used is that of an older Coloured woman singing the song, Too Legit To Quit, by MC Hammer – with different lyrics from the original song.

Hirayama deleted the video and blocked several followers after they lashed out at her for being racist and insulting women of this race and culture.
The tik tok from Lalla is not cute or funny
We try in so many ways to not be caricatures and stereotypes.
She is neither Coloured, not that it would make it any better.
It's vile and ugly. If you find it funny good for you and proceed to unfriend me.

Other users expressed that because she is not coloured, she shouldn’t be poking fun at something she has not lived or experienced.
When social distancing was put in place several weeks ago, Lalla expressed her outrage at people treating her differently because she is of Asian descent.
The the “LallaLand” star said: “I’m so tired of all the racist remarks I’ve had to deal with during this time. I’m exhausted. Honestly. I get why you nervous right now, but then ask If we’ve been traveling… I’ve been treating like dirt so many times my heart hurts. Please just stop #Coronavirussouthafrica”
