‘Tropika Island of Treasure’ fans give Chad Jones added boost

Dancer and TikTok sensation Chad Jones boasted about his fan base’s support as he stood his ground as a competitor on season 11 of Tropika Island of Treasure.

Jones stated that the show would contribute to the growth of his career.

“I know millions of eyes will be on this show; I hope that they are watching my team,” Jones said jokingly, promising to bring his big personality, charisma and energy to the finish line.

Speaking to Sunday World, he detailed his preparation for the contest that will take place in Zanzibar,  a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of east Africa.

Intense training session

Jones said: ”My training session is much more intense, I want to avoid being an unfit contestant.

“I am playing back previous seasons of the show; I want to pick up the pattern and types of challenges I can expect.”

He encouraged other content creators, telling them to remain authentic all the time.

“Do not do TikTok for fame. Think of the reasons for creating content. Be consistent. TikTok is the platform where I reached so many people.

“Being a TikTok creator is the very reason I have reached stardom — never mind stardom outside of the platform.”

Strong competition

He said he has a strong line of competitors, as they all come from different backgrounds with different talents, strengths, and personalities.

“The performances of the other celebrities will be unpredictable,” Jones said.

Jones disclosed his plans for the prize money, adding that he values his family and that he will take his family out for a celebratory meal.

“With the rest of the money, I am going to invest it in the brand my family and I have just started.

Jones quit his professional job to pursue his newly found passion.

Huge following on TikTok

He first emerged on the TikTok scene in 2023 in a video featuring him dancing to an amapiano song with his parents.

For an Asian family dancing to some of the popular amapiano tunes normally associated with nightclubs and townships, the Jones’ quickly became an online sensation, amassing 1.4-million followers on the app.

Other popular users on TikTok who are creating waves and who shed light on the platform’s role in bringing talent to the forefront are Tadeus Official, who secured a role in Queendom, and Nicetingz, who landed a role in The River, a telenovela, as well as Papa.
