I’ve been chasing your level for a decade, says AKA to K.O

Rapper Kiernan Forbes, popularly known by his stage name AKA, has given Ntokozo “K.O” Mdluli his flowers after his latest hit single went platinum 16 days after its release.

“I’ve been chasing your level for over a decade now. Your stamina is breathtaking,” wrote AKA on his social media account, praising K.O and calling him an absolute animal and a master of reinvention.

To which K.O replied: “Hold up! Getting flowers from one of MY idols, now that’s different. Kings knight kings. FYI you’re one of the reasons I can’t afford to slack big dawg! More love and light to you and yours. Tankie ndade.”

K.O shared on Wednesday that Sete, the new single, has reached a milestone of 4-million views on YouTube in just two weeks and occupies number one on all platforms.

In an interview with Sunday World last week, the rapper said Sete, which was released on August 19, is a melting pot of multi-genre sounds and talent, noting that he did not expect the song to blow up the way it did.

Explaining what inspired the song, K.O said: “The inspiration was to bring three different people from different worlds and fuse it with the Skhanda thing. I wanted to see what we could cook up, and I am happy with the beautiful smash it has become.

“My creative goal was to create a fusion of various worlds, where the artist’s skill and sound could be showcased and thrive on a neutral and mutual platform.”
