Celebrity makeup artist Lungile Thabethe has announced that she is now a mother to a baby girl. Thabethe, a first-time mom, shared on her social media platforms that she gave birth to her baby last Wednesday.
“Our Greatest Love was born. We give glory to Jesus Christ for a healthy and happy baby girl,” she shared.
Thabethe, who is the sister of actress Ayanda Thabethe, managed to hide her pregnancy for some time. However, there were media reports in February that she was keeping the news a secret.
Thabethe and her boyfriend, DJ Speedsta, real name Lesego Nkaiseng, have kept their relationship private. Speedsta last week on his Instagram stories shared a picture of himself holding their newborn baby girl.
In May, Thabethe took to her social media account to share a cute video of her pregnancy reveal. She shared how excited she is for motherhood.
“The Bible says that motherhood is a blessing, ordained by God, full of hope, full of joy, an unfading beauty. A high calling, worthy of honor, worthy of praise. I thank God for my greatest gift of all,” she wrote at the time.
Weight loss journey
Earlier this year, she opened up about her weight-loss journey after struggling with shedding her teenage weight for years.
She opened up about going under the knife and doing gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey last year.
“My sister had volunteered to travel with me. But unfortunately, she couldn’t, because she was seven months pregnant at the time. I would always stay around 80-85kg, nothing more than that. Over the 2021-2023 period, I skyrocketed all the way to 103.5kg. And for reference, I am 159cm tall. I have a very short frame to carry so much weight,” she said.
