Musician and actor Sandile Mfusi, popularly known as Masandi, is making a return alongside Mthandazo Gatya with an inspirational single Bekezela.
After taking a short break after the release of his EP and winning a Crown Gospel award, Masandi’s new single is a fusion of African Spirituality and traditional fashion.
The musician said after being involved in a car accident, that resulted in temporary paralysis and three months in a head brace, he decided to transition to inspirational music.
Masande said his new single portrays vocals more nuanced, depicting the release as something quite unique. He said it also offers capabilities to existing spaces of worship just as it could in secular realms.
“It’s a song about endurance, longevity, and believing in your dreams. It’s dedicated to anyone who is fighting for its fruition, it’s a constant conversation with self and realizing their ultimate potential,” he said.
The former Uzalo actor said with this new single he hopes to reach new heights by harnessing traditional Afro-pop undertones as well as a hot feature.
