A foreign man of the cloth has unleashed the Hawks on two sex workers who allegedly attempted to extort him of almost R200 000 and luxury cellphones.
The Bible puncher, who cannot be named for legal reasons, alleged that the two ladies of the night, who are known to Sunday World, demanded $10 000 and a luxury iPhone Promax from him in exchange for their silence after they rendered their services to him at a hotel in Eastern Cape early this year. They threatened to open a case of rape against him if he did not comply with their demands.
But instead of kowtowing to their demands, the clergyman reported the prostitutes to the Hawks and asked them to crimi-nally investigate them for extortion.
News that the priest has reported the two ladies of the night to the police came to the fore when his lawyers, Banda Tja & Associates, contacted Sunday World after we sent him a list of questions regarding the alleged matter on March 13.
“Our client’s failure and/or election to respond to specific allegations in your correspondence under this reply is not to be construed as an admission to the correctness thereof.
“Our client’s rights to fully respond thereto, should it subsequently become necessary, are expressly reserved.
“It is denied that our client utilised the services of sex workers in a hotel in the Eastern Cape during a conference hosted by Bishop Luvuyo Matiwane. Furthermore, our client is conside-ring legal recourse against the ill-founded accusations against him,” read the letter.
The lawyers also said the allegation that he paid the hookers to entertain him was fabricated in a bid to extort money from him.
“Our client informed us that these accusations are based on extorting money from him, and we are instructed to utilise the necessary legal recourse in dealing with this situation.
“Our client’s impression is that this conduct is an attempt to malign his reputation by branding him to be conducting immoral activities, among others, utilising the services of sex workers.
“The conduct is unlawful and potentially exposes criminal liability and furthers a claim for delictual damages,” read the letter.
According to the information received, the ecclesiastic allegedly booked two call girls to keep him company at a hotel in East London.
Their happiness was short-lived when they demanded $10 000 and expensive iPhones.
They threatened to expose him if he did not comply with their demands.
The minister refused to comply with their demands, and instead, he allegedly called Matiwane and another pastor only known as Mbaga, to come and intervene.
He then cut his trip short and left the country to avoid embarrassment.
Speaking to Sunday World, Matiwane confirmed the churchman attended their event but cut his trip short and left the country because he had a bereavement to attend to in his country.
“We are not aware of the allegations you are talking about; if that indeed happened, it certainly did not happen in our church conference,” he said.
Mbaga echoed Matiwane’s sentiments.
“He left the country because he had a bereavement to attend to at home. We are not aware of the allegations that he was running away from the prostitutes,” he said.
