Seasoned actress and businesswoman Sonia Mbele has broken her silence following her son’s (Donell) alleged abuse, which caused a stir on social media on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The post was that Donell abused his girlfriend because she had found out that he had allegedly cheated on her. It’s alleged that he threatened her to remove her pictures, showing off bruises, from her Instagram account – allegedly so people could not see how extreme the abuse was.
Taking to social media Mbele lambasted her son saying she did not support any form of abuse.
She shared that she had thought that she buried her past of being with a man who had abused her for some time in her life.
She said she had welcomed her son’s girlfriend into her home and had always treated her like a daughter. The actress added that she wished she had informed her of the alleged abuse face to face, rather than finding out on social media.
“I now realize I should have taken preventative measures much earlier such as counselling or child therapy….with that said Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its cause,” wrote Mbele.
