Struggling actor Vusi Thanda grateful for Mzansi’s generosity

Legendary Emzini Wezinsizwa actor Vusi Thanda has shown gratitude to many South Africans who opened their hearts and donated R100 000 into his bank account.

The veteran actor, who hails from Eastern Cape, said despite the negative feedback by some users on social media, he is appreciative of the love and support he received.

Thanda, fondly known as Tshawe on the SABC1 sitcom broadcast between 1994 and 2004, went public with his financial difficulties last week and pleaded with the nation to come to his rescue.

An emotional video of the seasoned thespian trended on social media platforms where he was begging for financial help.

Popular for his “as far as I am concerned” line on screen, the former The Queen thespian said last week that he had received some financial assistance and thanked his fans who took the time to donate.

That was only the beginning, as more people opened their purses and pumped more money into Thanda’s bank account.
