Award-winning actress Zikhona Sodlaka is celebrating 18 years in the entertainment industry and plans to pay a tribute to fellow artists.
Sodlaka will host The Art Circle where she will express appreciation and celebrate with fellow artists in an open conversation.
Roundtable ‘sit and sip’ podcast format
The platform will not be limited to artists but will also accommodate audiences that continue to support the arts.
The Art Circle follows a roundtable “sit and sip” podcast format, recognising the honourable members of the arts who through their ingenious talents have contributed significantly to the film and television industry locally and globally.
Sibulele Gcilitshana, Zolisa Xaluva, Vuyo Dabula and Mbalenhle Mavimbela are some of the icons that the podcast invited to talk about their respective journeys in the industry, sharing how their careers have come full circle and continue to evolve.
Sodlaka said she was honoured to have spent the past 18 years of her life entertaining the nation.
Through her pioneering on-screen characters, and by way of record-breaking film and television productions she has navigated through the most intense emotions, laughter, tears, anger, shame, disgust, guilt and ultimately joy.
Gift to supporters
“I’m so thankful for every single supporter that has walked alongside me throughout the years,” she said.
“I announced on my birthday that as a gift to myself and my greatest supporters, I had been working on a special project.
“A real labour of love that would pay homage to all my supporters. The Art Circle it is. I am stoked to finally be able to share more details. This secret has been so hard to keep under wraps.”
The year 2023 continues to favour the leading lady, as she finally wears and fully owns her production hat.
Under her production house Zikhona Sodlaka Productions, she not only hosts the web television talk show but also flexes her executive producer and creative director prowess.
The talk show will be broadcast online from November 7.
