Zola Hashatsi slams Kaya Fm after Ranaka’s departure

Actor and presenter Zola Hashatsi has slammed commercial radio station Kaya FM after the departure of Dineo Ranaka. Taking to social media Hashatsi reposted Ranaka’s post, where she spoke about how she was fired from the station.

The actor hinted at working with the station in futire while he questioned how they (KayaFM) went from supporting Ranaka to firing her at the end. In May the station issued a statement where they shared their sympathy towards Ranaka, while she was going through a mental breakdown and revealed she was depressed.

“This does not sit well with me, and I’m not sure if I want to work with you guys again. Depression is real, and a lot of us are suffering from it silently, so because she went to New York City, this happens,” he wrote.

Hashatsi also threatened not to listen to the radio station until the matter was solved. He made reference to the station doing the same thing to Unathi Nkayi who was given the boot by the station and the station manager Sibongile Mtayi.

Actor and television presenter Nkanyiso Bhengu also said he shared the same sentiments as Hashatsi.

“Yes I agree this is unfair and ruthless, reconsider your decision, you’ve shown no support whatsoever for your employee when she needed you guys more, she is awesome, and may God heal her immediately,” he wrote.

Ranaka has moved on to greener pastures, becoming the latest addition to the Podcast & Chill Network.

Ranaka, who officially cut ties with Kaya FM last week as one of its breakfast hosts, will now host the DineoOnSexnStuff podcast.

The podcast is set to air on Tuesday on both YouTube and Spotify
