Bandile Mathebula, 28, is a businessman who is described as a game changer in his approach to doing business. The founder and chairperson of a family business, KwaMthombeni (KMT) Empire in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, says he always looks for new ways and processes to do business. The holdings company, which he established in 2020, manages business portfolios in various industries such as digital media, interior and exterior design, home and office maintenance. It also offers unique brand concept designs through consultation. “The transition from traditional media to digital saw me focusing purely on the digital world as it is where were are going as a society and the world,” he says. “I was interested in the fact that society at large and the people of South Africa will become a more technologically integrated society in the future.” In home design, KMT Empire operates through its subsidiary, Indabenhle Enterprise, which specialises in creating beautiful interior and exterior designs, including kitchen remodels and carpentry for residential properties and corporates. The home and office maintenance division offers cleaning services for indoors and outdoors, including gardening, through its subsidiary KwaMthombeni Gardening. Their digital media agency Sibizi Media specialises in communications, publishing and digital marketing. “I started the business to grow my family legacy and build wealth for those who come after me and my siblings,” he concludes.
