Lubabalo Tybosch,35, is a young man who grew up in Mlungisi township, Stutterheim, Eastern Cape, and is chief executive officer of Uniqova, and information technology Solutions Company. This University of Johannesburg B Com IT Management graduate was motivated towards his line of work by the level of poverty and inequality he witnessed while growing up. Uniqova, which operates from Queenstown and Johannesburg, has a social responsibility initiative called The SA Mark, which strives to contribute towards poverty alleviation and social cohesion. It supports social-entrepreneurship and crime reduction initiatives. The SA Mark’s mission involves helping budding artists with brand development, brand recognition and growth as well as digital marketing. A lack of funding resources and a dedicated corporate office building and personnel remain a constant challenge. However, he says stepping in to occupy multiple roles has helped him to understand the business better. “Dealing with these challenges has been affirming that despite living with a disability, my capabilities have set me apart,” says Tybosch who, at the age of 10 was involved in a life-threatening taxi accident that rendered him immobile for six months. He is also a National Development Plan 2030 Youth Ambassador.
