More info:

Grace Tshiping is passionate about netball and uses it as a tool to empower young girls, take them off the streets, reduce teenage pregnancy and drug abuse in her community. Through Grace Golden Eagle Netball Club, the founder promotes equal access and opportunities for participants and fosters enjoyment and skills development through dedication and sound management practice. The coach dreams of one day opening a netball academy where she will be coaching and developing children. She sees herself teaching them about the importance of sport in their lives and the valuable social and communication skills a team sport can impart to players as they work towards a common goal. “I hope and believe that one day one of my players will make it to the national squad,” she shares. Even though she loves netball, her love for helping young women and children stretches beyond the field. Tshiping also hosts beauty pageants aimed at empowering young women in her community and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents. “Being an Unsung Hero is a great honour for me. I am very grateful to be recognised for my hard work and it will give me courage to do more for my community,” is her parting shot.
