Lesedi Dawn Thamaga is the founder and CEO of Leora Media. A serial entrepreneur, Thamaga also owns Aura Management, an event staffing company, and a home fragrance and wellness brand called Masa Luxury Co. Masa Luxury Co. is a brand inspired by the essence of African luxury on a mission to empower more communities through job creation and sustainability. Leora Media is a digital marketing agency that works with affluent individuals and organisations to help them establish a stronger brand and build a legacy. Aura Management managed to bridge the employment gap during the Covid-19 pandemic within the hospitality and event industry by providing skilled and trained part-time support staff. Thamaga describes herself as a driven individual who is passionate about building strong African brands that are socially responsible in the communities in which they operate and beyond. “I have a soft spot for young, black, females as I resonate with their challenges and struggles of finding employment in our country. I have made it my mission to create a workspace in which women can thrive,” she expresses. Thamaga is a recipient of the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship Scholarship, attending an immersive six-week executive education programme at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Management School in Chicago, USA, and is also a member of the Class of 2020 First National Bank W.I.B. Propeller. “I believe our collective efforts to solve everyday problems using the power of technology and innovation are where our focus should be. Our power lies in collaboration and continuously seeking to do all things with a spirit of excellence.”
