More info:

Thapelo Mokhethi’s interest in event management started in high school, where he organised small events. Years later, he founded Urban Brand Augmentors, making a name for himself in the marketing and events industry. After completing his studies at the University of the Free State (UFS) and the Central University of the Free State (CUT) respectively, Mokhethi interned with MTN SA, acquiring invaluable industry experience. “This led me to work as a freelancer, where I saw a significant gap in the market for a dedicated events and marketing agency. That realisation drove me to start my own company,” he states. “My marketing and events agency provides comprehensive services to a diverse range of clients, from government departments to SMEs. Our team comprises an account executive, an events intern, a chief augmentor and a marketing consultant,” he elaborates, mentioning that Urban Brand Augmentors has grown significantly, boasting organisations such as UFS, Transnet and Standard Bank as its clients. Urban Brand Augmentors is known for hosting popular events like The Soulful Soirée and Just Friends Social, which have become prominent social gatherings in the Free State. Mokhethi believes his work is not just about business; it’s about creating impactful experiences and providing platforms for creatives to thrive. Mokhethi is not just about the bottom line. Through his NGO, Redtank ICT Academy, he oversees the training of unemployed individuals in rural areas with digital skills, assists in job placements, and re-skills retired individuals to keep them active in society. Additionally, Mokhethi runs two internet cafés that provide IT access to marginalised communities.
