A Motion Picture Medium graduate and sound engineering major from AFDA, Molatelo has worn every hat — from camera operator to sound mixer — on top productions like SABC 2’s Behind The Rainbow and eNCA documentaries. But he didn’t just wait for doors to open. During one of the toughest job markets South Africa has seen, he created his own path by launching Makgotho Media — a bold new production company that’s all about telling real African stories with impact. His hustle paid off in 2024, snagging the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Regional Award (Sports category) and placing second in a high-stakes business pitch competition. Those wins weren’t just trophies — they were proof that his vision is ready to take flight. Now, as a freelancer, business student, and founder, Molatelo is building a brand that empowers young creatives and amplifies grassroots voices across the continent.
