I attribute success to having defi ned goals, believing in oneself, and going above and beyond mediocre achievement as a means of overcoming constraints associated with being a woman. Working hard and persevering in my academic career resulted in me earning my PhD against all odds, as a woman, including patriarchal gender disparities, issues of raising a family and children on the way. And of course, a supportive and enabling environment played a big role in my achievement.
