Neo Porscha Makgale, 39, is the chief executive officer of Neoheights, a domestic private charter company in Kempton Park, Gauteng, that she founded seven years ago after identifying an opportunity as an air hostess. Her client base includes monied people who are just looking to visit coastal places, tourists and businesspeople travelling to remote places for top-level meetings. The charter airline operates flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Polokwane and Gqeberha. “My inspiration is drawn from my love for travelling and living in Qatar, one of the fastest growing countries in the world, having travelled to over 70 countries and learning more about culture and how fast and advanced the world is,” she explains. “I started at the age of 20 as a cabin crew and ever since then I never looked back.” Makgale describes herself as a go-getter, a globetrotter, and a born leader with a solution-orientated mentality. “I am a believer that the greater strength to make things happen for you is within you,” she asserts. One major challenge her business has faced is securing investors. “Air travel is not well understood, and uncertainties hindered the journey,” she adds. “I overcame that by patiently educating any individual about the opportunities in air travel and the rapid growth in it.”
