Project Name/Description:
Fashion Designer, Model, and Community Activist
At just 24 years old, Angel Gonyora is already making a name for herself. A Bachelor of Science student at the prestigious Rhodes University, she has won several pageant titles and is currently the runner-up for Miss Zuri Africa. Additionally, she serves as the president of the Model United Nations at the Rhodes University branch.
“Our biggest challenge is finding someone who believes in what we’re doing and offers support,” Gonyora shared. “It’s very difficult to secure the financial backing we need to keep going. Sometimes, all it takes is one person to believe in our vision and lend us a helping hand,” said Gonyora.
As a passionate fashion designer, Gonyora uses fashion trends to highlight the beauty of the arts. Alongside her academic and modelling pursuits, she actively engages in community initiatives whenever possible. She spearheaded the #100kidstovarsity campaign and launched a sanitary and toiletry drive for various orphanages.
When she is not working on her fashion design, she uses her time productively by getting involved in devoting her time and energy into charities to help those in dire need.
“Nothing beats being recognised for your hard work and effort, I am really grateful for this recognition as it means that I am doing something right,” she added.
