More info:

She is in a profession that is often criticised, and less appreciated. Yet, this heroic woman takes her teaching profession to inspire, empower, and equip young people to heart.

Living with a teaching philosophy that says: “I teach to inspire,” Moema takes it further by putting pen to paper. She has two books under her name, Being Refined: The Seed of Hope and The Journey of the Seed of Hope.

Moema is also the co-founder of Being Refined: The Seed of Hope, named after her first book.

Among the organisation’s projects are impactful projects such as the School Shoes Drive, where Moema and her team have donated over 1 000 pairs of school shoes. This initiative has touched the lives of students across more than 10 schools in South Africa, now extended to neighbouring eSwatini.

Moema’s vision of empowerment also extends to young men through the annual boys’ camp hosted by The Seed of Hope. These camps bring together boys from various backgrounds to be mentored and empowered by fathers, pastors, mentors and businessmen. The goal is to cultivate better men and pro-actively combat gender-based violence.

In addition to the boys’ camp, she hosts a ladies’ camp, where women from all walks of life come together to be empowered and supported. Moema’s commitment to community building is further demonstrated by her annual charity initiative, where she hosts a special lunch for children at an orphanage, providing them with toiletries and spending the day bringing joy to their lives. Moema has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Young South Africans and has received the Community Builders Award from the Gauteng Legislature. Additionally, she has been honoured with the Young Women Peacebuilder Award for her commitment to fostering peace and uplifting communities.
