Hlobisile Bathabile Yende is an influential and dynamic figure in the agricultural sector, having made a significant impact at a remarkably young age. She is a multi-award-winning farmer who goes beyond the commercial aspects of farming to mentor aspiring female farmers, offering them a platform to grow and thrive as successful commercial farmers.
In her dedication to fostering agricultural knowledge from an early age, she has authored a non-fiction book aimed at educating young minds, starting with children as young as four years old. Her holistic approach to agricultural advocacy is evident in her unwavering commitment to food security and educating children about the origins and nutritional benefits of the food they consume daily.
Hlobisile’s dedication to uplifting others shines through her efforts to share her privilege and expertise, thereby making a lasting and meaningful impact on the agricultural landscape. She has established and maintained a strategic partnership with Karan Beef, consistently supplying Simmentaler weaner calves to the largest feedlot in Africa. Additionally, her maize production is directed through Afgri, further solidifying her influence in the sector.
Her leadership and contributions to agriculture have earned her numerous accolades, including the Training Initiative Award 2023, the Corteva Women In Agriculture Top Achiever Award 2023, third place in Her Perfect Pitch 2023, the Inspirational Women 2023 award, and recognition as a Mail & Guardian’ 200 Young South Africans in 2024. Hlobisile is currently advancing her education by completing her Master’s Degree.
