Project Name/Description:
Moremela Mogane Royal House – Princess and Community Activist
Her Royal Highness Mogane is not just a princess by title; she is deeply engaged with her community, working tirelessly to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world. Despite her royal lineage, she remains a devoted churchgoer, actively participating in projects aimed at improving the lives of those around her.
One of her notable achievements in community development over the past three years is her involvement with the Spar Women’s Challenge in the Lowveld, an annual race that celebrates women’s strength and camaraderie. This event, which began three years ago, drew 1 300 participants this year. Mogane’s passion for the event drives her to encourage organisations nationwide to invest in women’s sports.
Mogane also takes a leading role in raising awareness about gender-based violence and in fundraising efforts for the Greater Rape Intervention Programme.
She advocates for a healthy lifestyle by promoting sports within her community.
When asked about the challenges she faces as a woman in her work, Mogane stated, “The challenges that mainly arise include balancing career and family responsibilities, achieving financial stability in these fields, and dealing with under-representation in sports leagues and competitions.”
She encourages other women to “believe in your abilities, trust your instincts, and never underestimate your power to create positive change”.
