Mkhavele’s passion for social work and the protection of children is evident in her academic achievements, and she continues to study more.

 Mkhavele acquired a master’s degree in social work, focusing on child protection, from the North-West University, and is currently a PhD candidate. There is a plethora of other certificate qualifications, attained from institutions such as the University of Pretoria.

Among her leadership roles, Mkhavele is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders at Unisa’s School of Business Leadership (Public Management Track). She is also an alumni as a change driver at Activate Change Drivers SA and voluntarily holds the position of Girl Child Ambassador at the Gauteng Social Development Department. She also served as a regional research task team member at the Gauteng Department of Social Development (GDSD).

 Mkhavele is a dynamic, proud and committed social worker, with a seat in the GDSD JHB Metro Regional Committee of the Social Service Professionals, where she serves as deputy chairperson. Mkhavele lives by the words: “Dear Woman, you are given the power to achieve everything you want. Soldier on and navigate greater avenues.”

Mkhavele concludes: “Empower yourself and never limit yourself. Shy away from the world of complaints. Wake up, dust yourself, and find yourself.”
