Mpho Gift Lekgetho is a dedicated community leader renowned for her advocacy on behalf of individuals living with chronic diseases and survivors of gender-based violence. Her efforts earned her the title of Humanitarian Ambassador in Zimbabwe from Africa One Identity in 2023.
She is also deeply committed to the development of children and youth.
Through her involvement with the Marang Career Information Centre, she has been instrumental in organising training, educational camps, psychological support and counseling services, as well as capacity-building programmes. These initiatives are supported financially by the Department of Social Development and are delivered through workshops, dialogues and training.
Lekgetho’s background in journalism is extensive, having worked as a radio magazine show host for Kurara Community Radio Station and Health-e News. Additionally, she has successfully published five inspirational books.
Lekgetho has been living with HIV for 25 years and is not ashamed to talk about her status publicly. She was awarded an ambassador crown in 2019 in Thailand for people living with HIV in the faith-based sector for South Africa. She also received a nominee award for the best writer in 2020 MAMAP Category.
