Surely, the world would be a better place if all of us lived with a mantra of: “Lift as you rise.”
This is particularly relevant to those gifted to change lives and seek to see a better world we can all be proud of. One of those is Tema, a phenomenal woman whose work has seen her managing a few roles, such as an educator, human resource manager, philanthropist, transformational coach and conversationalist.
Among Tema’s work at schools are key projects such as donating school shoes and sanitary towels to primary and secondary schools in rural areas. She has also offered psychosocial support to matriculants during camps and to other learners.
Her company, Ibutho, has endeavoured to work closely with men to start openly talking about any issue, equally, she works with young men as she aims to get them to read, and get them to learn more about aspects such as black consciousness.
Tema has been described as the kind of woman who gets “women to be the best versions of themselves”.
Among her plethora of projects, she also runs programmes supporting single moms, widows and divorced women.
Tema says: “The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them you immediately begin to create momentum. Plan on achieving them and set yourself a deadline. With confidence and determination, carry out your plan.”
