Project Name/Description:
Community Developer & Gender Activist – Winburg Gender-Based Violence Desk
Affectionately known as “Nossy” within her Winburg community in the Free State, Tsetsana Suzen Bore has devoted her life to empowering women and girls. Despite her position as public liaison coordinator at Masilonyana Local Municipality, she remains deeply committed to advancing the welfare of disadvantaged women in Winburg. Her unwavering love for her community has fuelled her dedication to helping others, driven by a strong desire to see people thrive and lead positive lives.
“I am passionate about helping people, especially women and young girls who have lost hope, as well as victims of gender-based violence and femicide. I have spent years organising and advocating for women and young girls to understand their rights. Additionally, I
focus on equipping women with the skills to sustain themselves and provide for their families,” Bore explains.
Bore’s activism began at the age of 19 when she joined the Winburg Makeleketla Anti-Aids Support Group, affiliated with Love Life, in 2003. Her commitment has never wavered, and she has since founded her own non-profit organisation, Women Stand United. Through her efforts, she has raised awareness of gender-based violence and championed women’s rights in various areas.
