From dodgy muscles to Thebe’s creaky knees
Royal AM chairman and player Andile Mpisane was spotted working very hard in the gym. Mpisane, who is the son of president and wealthy businesswoman Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize, was doing some cardio exercises and attempted to lift some weights.
You see, mama’s boy here is struggling to break into the starting line-up of mama’s team named after him. He has not quite cracked it in the PSL. What is more astonishing is that for someone who claims to have been playing soccer all his life, he does not even have one tiny muscle. His are as toned as those of a Baywatch lifesaver babe… poor guy!
Kwaito legend Thebe must really consider retiring from doing live performances. Thebe, who unleashed a number of bangers in the 1990s, was the main performer at the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup launch in Hyde Park on Tuesday. He performed the tournament’s theme song Fak’ugesi, but he could really do with some gas himself. The knees have taken a battering over the years; the hips seem to have been overworked; and the voice, figuratively speaking, appears to be on its last lap. By the time he was done with the song, he was breathless, needing to take it easy on the chairs, uncomfortably and visibly trying hard to catch some breath. If you thought Freddie Jackson, he of Nice ’n Slow, was bad, wait until you see Thebe as of late… shame.
