Yours in gossip jetted out to the opening party of South African Fashion Week at Aurum restaurant at The Leonardo in Sandton. The theme of the night was “New York”, and Shwa has not yet been to the City of Dreams, so I had to scramble to find something suitable to wear.
The affair was attended by A-listers from the world of fashion and entertainment.
Not all the guests pushed the boundaries of style and creativity by wearing stunning ensembles that showcased the diversity and dynamism of the country’s local fashion scene. Some just decided to come as comfortable as they wanted and some who love going above and beyond showed off their fashion flair.
Media personality Blue Mbombo is always in Shwa’s good books when it comes to fashion and style. But baby girl, it is sometimes not necessary to overdress. Blue rocked a peach suit by Scalo, but it was not giving that New York feeling.
Kim Jayde, I love the fact that you have finally listened to Shwa. I’m proud of you, baby girl, for not wearing sneakers on the black carpet. You looked exquisite in that sexy black number.
Reality TV stars included the gorgeous Tshegofatso Manche, Londie London, Nicole Capper, Angel Pather and Lynn Forbes. Miss Manche, it was good to see you out with your husband. Had Shwa been of low morals, she would have tried to snatch him away from you.
Is the cast of Real Housewives of Joburg Season 3 becoming the latest socialites of the City of Gold? Everywhere Shwa turns they are there. Come on, you glamour eternals, give other kids a chance. Shwa has also noticed that Lynn Forbes has developed quite a social life and Shwa loves it for her, but shouldn’t you be resting at night like all gogos?

Love certainly lives here for Kay Sibiya and his girlfriend Judie Kama. Not only did they rock up in matching outfits, but they were both booked at the same gig – for deejaying. Clearly Sibiya has realised that people are not that sold on his acting skills and has jumped onto the DJs gravy train. Judie had Shwa leave the party
early way before Khuli Chana could perform because of her intolerable skills on the decks.
For Theo Kgosinkwe and some other people that Shwa won’t mention, it was another day, another same outfit. Shwa also spotted Gigi Lamayne, Ponahalo Mojapelo, Penny Lebyane, Abigail Visagie, Kyle Clark, Shamiso Mosaka and Kuhle Adams.
